A 20-year-old man has died at V Festival in Weston Park, police have confirmed.
The Shropshire man, who has yet to be named, was found by festival security staff in a tent in the early hours of this morning (August 19). He was unresponsive and was given immediate first aid, but was later pronounced dead.
According to a BBC report, police are treating the death as unexplained and are appealing for anyone who may have information, or seen the man on Saturday evening, to come forward.
Officers have sealed off the scene for a forensic examination and are currently investigating the cause of death. A post-mortem will be carried out later.
Chief Inspector Carl Ratcliffe, who is in command of Staffordshire police at the site, said: "We are very saddened by the tragic death of this young man and we are working to establish the full facts and build a picture of his actions in the few hours before his death.
"We will be preparing a report for Her Majesty's coroner who has already been informed about this incident and we are working to support those affected by this incident."
A spokesperson for V Festival added: "We are all very saddened by this tragic incident, and we want to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of this young man. Our team worked throughout the night to support those affected at the festival site and we want to thank everyone for their co-operation and support during the incident."
The Stone Roses, The Killers, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Tinie Tempah are among the acts playing the two-day festival.
